HCS, LLC Certification and Licensure for LTC Facilities

Healthcare Consulting Services, LLC (HCS), can provide Medicaid-certified nursing facilities with assistance in evaluating the financial and operational impact of Medicaid and/or Medicare certification and in preparing the required applications.

At HCS, we have found that many facilities do not have the necessary systems or resources to support:

Planning for necessary physical plant changes, budget development, and marketing

Projecting the reimbursement and costs associated with certification (pro forma cost report and financial statements)

Completion of the new HCFA 855 Medicare Enrollment form which now delves extensively into previous history of managers, owners and Boards of Directors

Completion of the required Civil Rights Packet and fathering the necessary information (e.g., county demographics)

Completion of the CON request (if required) and State licensure application including projected staffing schedules

Coordination with the appropriate State and Fiscal Intermediary officials to assure timely responses and clarifications

Development of new policies, procedures, job descriptions and contracts for services

Establishing quality improvement and outcome measurement programs

MDS vendor selection, MDS training and MDS management processes

HCS has staff with extensive financial, operational and regulatory experience in the long-term care setting. Our staff will assist the facility from initial planning through final licensure and certification including any post-implementation follow-up.

Often assisting with licensure and certification application we’ll identify other opportunities for improvement in operational and financial performance such as:

	Staffing
	Cost Accounting
	Billing office processes and A/R management
	Outsourcing
