Pricing Strategy

At Healthcare Consulting Services, LLC, we can perform a detailed assessment of Hospital charges according to their assigned charge amounts by payor type and patient type (inpatient or outpatient) in an effort to increase cash flows to the Hospital while not materially increasing the Hospital’s gross charges.

We analyze data provided by the Hospital in a Lotus, Quattro Pro or Excel format. Where the Hospital is unable to provide us with charge information specific to totals for each procedure billed, we analyze the Hospital’s charges by departmental patient type and frequency.

As part of our analysis we will perform the following:

Optimize all charges by increasing or decreasing the existing charge based upon the overall parameters set by the Hospital and thereby increasing cash flows resulting in an overall rate increase also established by the Hospital.

Identify those charges, which are being subjected to either a Medicare or Medicaid payment limitation and suggest appropriate charges based upon the CPT-4 codes.

Project cash flows resulting from each charge item based upon frequencies provided to us by the Hospital.

Upon completion of our analysis, we furnish the Hospital with a detailed report that specifically identifies which charges we recommend to be changed on the Hospital’s chargemaster. For instance, by department, our report clearly identifies all charges to increase or decrease on the chargemaster by charge code. Further, we project all expected material increases in reimbursement resulting from our analyses in the narrative section of our report. The reports are delivered to the Hospital approximately three (3) weeks from the time we receive all of the required data.
